Port Au Port Campaign

Members have been diligently continuing to support the Environmental Transparency Committee on the Port au Port Peninsular in their quest to have the controversial World Energy GH2 wind/hydrogen project referred for a Federal Environmental Assessment. They have written letters to both Federal and Provincial ministers; had several excellent letters published in the local media; appeared on phone-ins; and organised a rally in St John's last week outside the offices of the IACC (Environmental Assessment Agency) in conjunction with the St John's Social Justice Coop. Six media representatives were there to report on the rally. This keeps the issue in the public (and politician's) minds.
